Local veterinarians have an on-call rotation schedule. Their on-call duty starts at 15:00 on weekdays and ends at 8:00 the following morning. At weekends the veterinarian is on call from 14:00 on Friday until 8:00 on Monday.
Kuusamo, Posio and Taivalkoski joint services area uses a centralised telephone service system. The veterinarian on call is always available on the same number. The number for the telephone service is 0600-18919. The call costs €3.46 /minute + local call/network charge. If premium rate telephone numbers are blocked on your phone, you cannot call the number.
Veterinary consultations and services have a higher rate in the evening and at night, also at weekends and public holidays as follows
