Kuusamo Youth Council is a cooperation body for 13-to 20-year-old Kuusamo residents.
Youth council ensures that young people’s voice is heard in the town decision-making. Youth council increases and improves young people’s opportunities for involvement and ensures that young people can have their say in matters affecting them.
In Kuusamo, youth council is nominated by town board and the youth council’s term of office is 2 years. The term of office changes in autumn, between August and September. A young person, either a resident or a student in Kuusamo, may be chosen as a member of the youth council.
